The Norton Racing Race Spec Lite Shock built by K-Tech is the 2nd generation build of our light weight budget friendly, race shock.  Our Race Spec Lite shock is the result of extensive development and testing with countless riders and nearly every race shock on the market available for the Yamaha R3, as well as our 1st generation Race Spec shock.  It is built with one goal in mind, to bring the cost down of rider customized race built suspension, and allow more riders to be able to afford and experience the performance proper suspension on their R3.

Our Race Spec Lite shock is built on the platform of K-Tech’s new Razor-R Lite shock, but that’s where the similarities stop.  Our Race Spec Lite shock uses our own race proven length, valving, and spring rates.  We even had K-Tech custom make springs to our specs because they didn’t have one of the sizes available that we needed.  Instead of the “one size fits all” methodology other companies use for street/race suspension, our Race Spec Lite shock is available in four different builds to perfectly match riders ranging from 80 lbs to 250+ lbs.  You can’t build one shock that will be the best build for a 100 lb beginner street rider and 200 lb expert racer, they must be built differently to perform the best, and ours are.

The Norton Racing Race Spec Lite Shock features ride height adjustment (282-292mm shock length), spring preload adjustment, and rebound adjustment.  The Race Spec Lite shock is also the lightest weight race shock on the market, weighing only 4 lbs 2 oz.

To keep the cost of the shock down, the internal compression valving is built to our race specs but is not externally adjustable.  This means that you don’t have to spend valuable track time fussing with the knobs and clickers on your shock or worrying if it’s setup right.  Your shock will be pre-set to our baseline, race proven length, preload, and rebound settings for your weight.  You don’t even have to bother measuring sag, just install the shock and go race!  We mean it, for our first race test, we replaced team rider Seth Hauer’s fully adjustable Ohlins shock with our Race Spec Lite shock with no changes to our baseline settings for CVMA 2017 Round 1.  Seth dropped his personal best laptime by almost 2 seconds and won 3 of his 4 expert races.  He crashed out while leading the 4th.  Not bad for a “budget” race shock.

All of this translates to a purpose built race shock that outperforms anything even close in price and even more expensive shocks.  This shock was developed with racers in mind, but because we offer it with 4 different builds, we can also match street riders with a build that will outperform any street shock for the price as well.  Once you place an order, you will receive an email inquiring about your rider weight, and riding preference.
