Just like the NIX 30, the ‘22’ has the Öhlins proven “NIX” single piston design which features compression damping in the left leg and rebound damping in the right leg, giving a more precise function and stability. Adjustments are made at the top of the fork, together with the spring preload, all designed to make alternation as easy as possible.

The Ohlins NIX 22 is the only true drop-in fork cartridge kit for the Kawasaki Ninja 400.  Because of the design, the forks do not need to be modified for installation.

Even though this is a drop-in kit, a few special tools are needed to install a cartridge kit.
We HIGHLY recommend sending your forks in for installation.  The price for installation is VERY reasonable and usual turn around time is less than one business week, so you wont be off the road for long!

*Professional installation is highly recommended. ***IMPORTANT*** These forks REQUIRE milling of and modifying the inner fork tube. This MUST be done by a professional for proper functionality!!!

These bikes use damper rod style forks, so the fork tubes must be modified slightly to accommodate certain cartridge kits including the Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 and Andreani Misano kits. To ensure you are getting ALL of the benefit of the expensive kits you have purchased, we HIGHLY recommend sending your forks in for installation. Kawasaki Ninja 400 owners can now match their Öhlins rear shocks with a compatible ‘front end’ option, to maximize the performance of these ‘pocket rockets’.

 With race replica looks, owners of these learner friendly machines can now have suspension quality to match their bigger cousins. Using the technology and experience gained from the established NIX 30 Supersport kit, this new NIX 22 kit gives Ninja 400 owners the chance to discover the Öhlins advantage.

Front suspension upgrades used to be considered the preserve of race and trackday riders but now riders of all machines can benefit from good handling, bump absorption and a positive, confidence inspiring feeling from the ‘front end’.

***We recommend modifying the OEM bottoming cone inside the Kawasaki Ninja 400 fork when installing Ohlins fork cartridges to prevent the bottoming cone from affecting the damping characteristics deep into the fork’s stroke:
