Akrapovic Carbon Slip-on Exhaust for Yamaha R3, first glance

I received my first delivery of Akrapovic’s carbon fiber S-Y2SO12-HAPC slip-on exhaust systems for the 2015 Yamaha R3 today.  The carbon has a unique look to it that’s darker than most carbon fiber and it has a little of the weave texture still.  One other cool thing to note is that the band clamp is 100% carbon fiber, pretty slick.  The whole system weighs in at 3 lbs, 2.6 oz (the hardware is on the scale too, it’s just out of view), which is slightly heavier than the minimalist GP style SS slip-on (2lbs), but still considerably less than the stock system’s 6 lbs 5 oz (6 lbs 10 oz with the oem heat shield that has to come off).
